Big Ben (2005)

1) An extract of the first known recording of Big Ben is played at irregular intervals through a sound system in a street, it rings 11 times but never happens at 11 or another hour on the dot. 2) This is recorded with any microphone and portable recording device available and played back later, elsewhere. And then recorded again. 3) The same process is repeated until the sound of the bell is lost in the noises of the differents streets. Step 1 was performed from 4 to 8 may 2005 during the festival Nuits Sonores in front of the Ancien Palais de Justice, Quai Romain Roland, Lyon.
